Mutual Kumquat

We are super excited to share with you our new self-titled CD "Mutual Kumquat!" The 13 track album is our first self produced album recorded by our very own Drue Gray at Good Intentions Studio. Long time Kumquats Seth Hendricks, Drue Gray, Chris Good and Justin Peterson are joined on the album by newcomers keyboardist Jesse Morgan and mandolinist Jacob Jolliff. Drummer Evan Gutierrez and cellist Abby Alwin are also featured on the album. True to Mutual Kumquat form, the music draws from many inspirations including bluegrass, jazz and afrobeat. Drue, Seth, and Chris all contributed songs to the disc as well as a handful of the band's most colloborative efforts to date.

The CD was released on March 15 which was also the 5th Anniversary of the War in Iraq. We joined thousands of others on that day to protest the continued occupation of Iraq and the lies and greed that have led us to this point. As a band Mutual Kumquat has always been about much more than the music. Releasing our new album on this anniversary, we hope that our music can help bring a bit more hope, inspiration and consciousness into the world. Resistance is growing, public frustration is building and new and exciting ways of thinking are sprouting. We continue to strive to join the many people who are looking for creative, living and loving ways to engage the world. Let us all remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "let us all be the change that we wish to see in this world!"
